O-Greenโ€™s Mawarid Turbine and Chinaโ€™s Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group have signed a comprehensive strategic partnership to advance wind energy technology, industrial development, turbine supply and technical services. The collaboration will support the development of the Mawarid Wind Turbine Manufacturing Facility in Duqm, including plans for a joint research and development centre, a turbine testing facility, technology transfer and specialised manufacturing capabilities adapted to GCC conditions. Equally significant is the investment in Omani talent: a second group of 71 young Omanis has travelled to China for specialised industrial training as part of an 11-month training-for-employment programme, with permanent positions planned upon successful completion. This partnership goes beyond renewable energy projects โ€” it brings together technology localisation, industrial growth, skills development and opportunities for Omani businesses to participate in the clean-energy supply chain. A promising step towards building a stronger domestic wind-energy industry and advancing Oman Vision 2040.
