Oman is strengthening its agricultural export ambitions by focusing on product quality, innovative packaging and stronger connections with international buyers. The fourth Dates and Honey Exhibition 2026, which opened at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on 19 October, has brought together around 100 businesses, including SMEs, producers, processors, exporters, importers and entrepreneurs. Organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in partnership with Oman Agriculture Development Company, the five-day event highlights opportunities to improve the competitiveness of Omani dates and honey in local, regional and global markets. A key priority is helping producers meet quality standards through laboratory testing, certification, stronger product branding and packaging suited to international market requirements. The exhibition also showcases production, processing and packaging technologies while encouraging knowledge exchange, investment and trade partnerships. By connecting local producers with new commercial opportunities, Oman is working to add value to its agricultural heritage, support SMEs and rural communities, strengthen food security, and advance economic diversification under Oman Vision 2040.
