Oman is advancing its ambition to become a competitive regional destination for international finance and investment as the International Financial Centre of Oman (IFC Oman) prepares for full licensing operations in 2027. The Centre expects to begin registering companies before the end of 2026, with work progressing on its legal framework, regulatory rulebook and digital registration system. A forthcoming package of laws will cover business registration and licensing, financial services regulation, and independent dispute resolution, providing greater clarity and confidence for businesses considering establishing operations in Oman. The Centre is also expanding international engagement with prospective financial institutions, investors and professional services firms to build partnerships and attract global expertise. By developing a dedicated financial-services ecosystem, Oman aims to strengthen capital markets, create specialised employment opportunities, support private investment and accelerate economic diversification. The coming milestonesโ€”company registration, digital registry readiness and full licensingโ€”will be important in translating the Centreโ€™s strategic ambition into tangible business activity under Oman Vision 2040.
