Al Dakhiliyah Governorate is advancing several major tourism, heritage and infrastructure projects in Al Hamra and Bahla, with completion rates ranging from 40% to 94%.
Key projects include the Eastern Mountain Oasis, Misfat Al Abriyeen development, Bahla Souq rehabilitation, and the Jabrin entrance and Bisyah area improvements.
The Eastern Mountain Oasis has exceeded 80% completion, featuring an investment restaurant, outdoor theatre, shaded seating, prayer areas and pedestrian walkways. Local content during implementation has reached 85%.
Meanwhile, Bahla Souq is about 94% complete, with restoration of traditional architecture, upgraded commercial spaces and a new tourist walkway connecting the historic mosque with Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The projects aim to enhance visitor experiences, preserve Omanโs architectural heritage, create investment opportunities and support SMEs, artisans and local economic activity.
The development supports Omanโs broader Oman Vision 2040 goals for sustainable tourism, local value creation and economic diversification.
