Omanโs tourism sector continued its growth in Q1 2026, with its contribution to GDP rising to 2.9%, up from 2.6% in the same period of 2025.
Direct tourism GDP reached RO 293.8 million, growing 6.5%, while total tourism output increased 9.7% to RO 610.4 million.
Accommodation, travel services, transportation and restaurants remained major contributors to the sectorโs economic impact, highlighting tourismโs wider role across Omanโs economy.
The latest performance brings Oman closer to its Oman Vision 2040 target of increasing tourismโs contribution to 3.5% of GDP by 2030 and 5.3% by 2040.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is continuing efforts to expand tourism products, attract investment, improve visitor experiences and create new opportunities for SMEs and the private sector.
