Oman’s State Audit Institution (SAI) has introduced a requirement for entities to respond to audit findings within 30 days, strengthening accountability and follow-up across government institutions and public entities. The Arabian Stories report

The measure is aimed at ensuring that audit observations are addressed promptly, with concerned entities expected to provide responses and clarify the actions taken to resolve identified issues.

A defined response timeframe can strengthen governance, financial discipline and institutional accountability, while helping ensure that audit recommendations translate into practical improvements.

The move also supports Oman’s broader focus on transparency, efficient public-sector management and responsible use of public resources under Oman Vision 2040.
