Oman’s non-oil exports to the UAE nearly doubled in the first half of 2026, highlighting a major shift in regional trade flows and the growing importance of alternative logistics routes.

According to Oman’s National Centre for Statistics and Information, the UAE remained Oman’s largest non-oil export market, with exports rising 93% year-on-year to RO 1.1 billion (around $3 billion) during the first six months of 2026.

The sharp increase comes as disruptions to traditional regional supply chains have encouraged businesses to explore new land-based supply routes and alternative trade corridors.

The development reinforces Oman’s strategic position as a logistics gateway connecting the Gulf, Arabian Sea and wider international markets. It also highlights the growing role of non-oil trade in Oman’s economic diversification strategy.

With the UAE simultaneously remaining a major destination for Omani goods and an important regional re-export hub, stronger trade flows could create new opportunities across logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, ports and supply-chain services.
