Otech, the technology arm of Omantel, and Deep Astra have launched a locally hosted sovereign AI platform designed to give businesses in Oman easier access to multiple AI models without requiring them to build costly computing infrastructure.

The platform provides a single gateway to different AI models, allowing companies, developers and SMEs to select the model suited to their needs and pay based on usage.

Because the service is hosted locally, organisations can have greater control over data, AI models, access permissions, security and compliance. The platform also includes open-source AI models and is designed to help businesses move from experimentation to commercial AI deployment more easily.

For Oman’s SMEs and technology startups, this could lower the technical and financial barriers to adopting AI, while supporting the country’s broader digital economy and Oman Vision 2040 ambitions.
