Omanโs Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has introduced new regulations requiring commercial, industrial and residential buildings to include telecom-ready infrastructure.
Developers and property owners will need to provide ducts, cable routes and other internal infrastructure capable of supporting telecom networks and multiple licensed operators.
The new framework aims to prevent buildings from being designed around a single telecom provider, promoting fair access, stronger competition and better connectivity.
A certificate confirming completion of internal telecom connections will also become part of the building completion approval process.
Most provisions will take effect six months after publication, giving developers time to meet the new requirements.
