Oman’s artificial intelligence sector is gaining significant momentum, with the number of Omani companies operating in AI reaching 42 by the end of August 2026, compared with 22 a year earlier—a remarkable 91% increase.

The growth reflects the emergence of a stronger local technology ecosystem, with Omani AI companies developing solutions that improve business efficiency, automate processes, enhance services and support data-driven decision-making across government and private-sector applications.

Beyond the numbers, the development is important because these companies are helping localise AI expertise, create opportunities for Omani technology professionals and build solutions that can potentially scale into regional and international markets.
