The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) has recorded its seventh consecutive week of gains, with the main index closing at 7,647 points, up 19 points during the latest trading week. Over the past seven weeks, the index has gained more than 530 points, supported by improving economic indicators and stronger corporate profitability.
The total market capitalisation of MSX climbed to OMR 39.44 billion, adding around OMR 530.6 million in a single week. Industrial, financial, services and energy companies all contributed to the positive performance.
Trading activity also remained strong. Around 47,000 transactions were executed during the week, up 6% from the previous week, although total trading value declined 19% to OMR 196.9 million.
The continued rise comes as Omanโs capital market undergoes a broader transformation, supported by new listings, stronger liquidity mechanisms and efforts to attract local and international investors. Recent listings such as Omifco have further expanded the depth and sectoral diversity of the exchange.
