Asyad Shipping has signed RO39.89 million shipbuilding contracts with South Koreaโs Hyundai Heavy Industries for two new Medium Range (MR) product tankers, strengthening Omanโs position in global maritime and energy logistics.
The two vessels will be added to the six MR product tankers ordered earlier this year, bringing the total series to eight vessels. Each tanker will have a capacity of approximately 49,999 DWT and will feature advanced, fuel-efficient technologies.
Importantly, both new vessels already have five-year time-charter agreements with a leading global energy company and are scheduled for delivery in 2029. This provides greater earnings visibility while supporting Asyad's long-term fleet expansion strategy.
With a globally diversified fleet of around 90 vessels serving customers in more than 60 countries, Asyad is increasingly positioned to benefit from growing seaborne trade and energy transportation demand across Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
