The Oman Investment Authority (OIA) has committed 25% of the capital in the newly launched Templewater Innovation Fund, a Hong Kong-backed investment vehicle targeting technology and innovation.
The fund is expected to have a target size of around US$150 million, with half of its total capital earmarked for investments in Oman. Priority areas include AI and data science, advanced manufacturing, new energy, and health and life sciences.
The partnership also includes a significant local commitment: Templewater is establishing an office in Muscat, creating a stronger on-the-ground presence for identifying and supporting investment opportunities in Oman.
For Omanβs technology ecosystem, the agreement could provide access to larger pools of growth capital while supporting knowledge transfer, international connections and regional expansion for Omani companies.
