Four Grade 9 students from Ahmed Bin Majid International School were recognised during Oman Climate Week after presenting their award-winning sustainable city project. The students had earlier won the Sustainability Award in the UNESCO CIPP 2025 Awards, competing among approximately 30,000 participants worldwide.
The students showcased their project at the ABM exhibition booth, engaging with visitors and environmental experts on sustainable communities. Their achievement was recognised at the Oman Climate Week closing ceremony, where they received certificates from the Environment Authority of Oman.
The project, inspired in part by Sultan Haitham City, focused on sustainable and smart-city concepts aligned with SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities and Oman Vision 2040. The school also highlighted wider student-led initiatives covering recycling, water reuse, food waste, green projects and environmental awareness.
