Oman’s nationwide smart electricity meter programme has reached approximately 80%, with more than 1.5 million smart meters installed across the Sultanate. According to Nama Electricity Distribution, the infrastructure goes beyond remote meter reading, combining communications networks, data platforms and analytics to improve billing accuracy, network planning, outage detection, electricity-supply reliability and faster service restoration.
