His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik visited the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) on September 23, reviewing major economic, investment and development projects and the zoneโ€™s expansion in recent years. The visit focused on efforts to transform Duqm into an integrated economic and logistics hub and create a stronger environment for attracting domestic and foreign investment.

According to Omanโ€™s Foreign Ministry, cumulative committed investment in SEZAD had reached OMR 8.818 billion by the end of June 2026, compared with OMR 3.65 billion in 2021. The Port of Duqm has also recorded growth in cargo activity, while further projects are being pursued in logistics, tourism, commercial activities, education, healthcare and green hydrogen.
