Oman is moving to strengthen its business environment and accelerate non-oil economic growth under Royal directives to establish a National Programme for Enhancing the Business Environment to Attract Investment and prepare a long-term plan to strengthen the countryβs non-oil trade balance.
The initiatives will focus on improving government services and business procedures, attracting high-quality investments, expanding domestic production and developing export-oriented industries. Oman also plans to assess imports that could be produced locally, creating opportunities for industrial investment, stronger domestic supply chains and greater local value addition.
The programme will also support efforts to expand non-oil exports and re-exports, open new international markets for Omani products and increase opportunities for SMEs and entrepreneurs to participate in production, supply and export chains.
