Oman Investment Authority (OIA) is seeking to use Oman’s strategic geographic position, international investment portfolio and expanding global partnerships to access new markets along and beyond China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Speaking at the Belt and Road Summit 2026 in Hong Kong, OIA highlighted Oman’s location between Asia, the Middle East and Africa, supported by the ports of Sohar, Salalah and Duqm.

OIA is also using its international investments to connect Omani companies with capital, technology, expertise and global markets. Its strategy includes expanding partnerships with China and Hong Kong in areas such as new energy, advanced industries and digital infrastructure, while directing international investment toward opportunities that can generate wider economic benefits for Oman.
