Omani swimmer Khalid Mohammed Al Kulaibi struck gold in the 100m freestyle at the 2nd Asian Masters Swimming Championships in Bengaluru, India, finishing first in his age category in a field of around 80 swimmers from several Asian countries. The victory marks an encouraging return to competitive swimming for Al Kulaibi, who is now targeting the 2027 World Masters Championships in Budapest. He still has five events to contest in Bengaluru — the 200m and 400m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, 200m individual medley and 100m butterfly — as he builds international experience toward his longer-term goal.
