Omanβs Tax Authority has urged shops to clearly mark goods subject to the 0% VAT rate so consumers can easily identify products that are not subject to VAT. The Authority also called on consumers to report any listed zero-rated goods that are still being charged VAT, with complaints to be submitted through the Tajawob platform along with the relevant business details. The guidance follows the Authorityβs recent expansion of the zero-rated VAT list covering essential goods and healthcare products, effective from 1 October 2026.
