Oman is moving ahead with the redevelopment of the Sultan Qaboos Port Waterfront in Muttrah following an Integrated Tourism Complex agreement between the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and OMRAN Group. Covering approximately 1 million square metres, with more than 400,000 square metres of developable area, the project will transform the waterfront into a mixed-use destination combining tourism, hospitality, culture, leisure and contemporary lifestyle experiences while preserving Muttrahโ€™s historic and architectural character. The development will be implemented in three phases across four main districts: Port Souq, Port Gateway, Al Shatifi and Al Shatifi Hills, with retail, hotels, residences, a waterfront promenade, restaurants, cafรฉs, public spaces and a mountain resort. The project is intended to strengthen Muttrahโ€™s position as a leading tourism and cultural destination and attract quality investment and strategic partnerships.
