Oman’s stock market closed higher on Thursday, with the MSX index ending at 7,832.25 points, up 0.05%, while the Sharia Index gained 0.39% to reach 640.75 points. Trading activity remained significant, with 9,808 transactions generating OMR 82.46 million in turnover as more than 273.99 million shares changed hands. Of the 70 securities traded, 25 advanced, 11 declined and 34 remained unchanged. Muscat Insurance led the gainers, rising 9.90%, while Phoenix Power recorded the largest decline at 9.97%. Sohar International Bank was the most active stock by both share volume and turnover. The session reflects a modest positive close amid varied performance across Oman’s financial, industrial and services sectors.
