Omanโs electricity production increased by 4.3% to 37,481.8 GWh by the end of August 2026, compared with the same period last year, highlighting continued growth in the countryโs power sector. According to preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), Muscat Governorate recorded the sharpest increase in electricity production, followed by Al Dakhiliyah and Al Wusta. Net electricity production also rose by 4.6% to 36,463.9 GWh. As Oman continues to develop its industrial base, infrastructure and economic activity, reliable and efficient power generation remains essential to supporting future demand. At the same time, the reported 3.5% decline in water production underlines the importance of integrated planning across the electricity and water sectors. These trends reinforce the need for resilient infrastructure, smarter resource management and sustainable long-term planning.
