Oman is strengthening its efforts to build a competitive digital economy by pursuing international partnerships in innovation, entrepreneurship and emerging technologies. Muscat is hosting the fourth meeting of the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Digital Innovation Board, which is reviewing the alliance’s strategic direction, ongoing initiatives and priorities for its next phase. The discussions align with Oman’s developing digital economy roadmap and focus on bridging the digital divide, addressing digital-skills gaps and accelerating digital transformation. The meeting also provides an opportunity to showcase Omani telecommunications and technology companies, including SMEs specialising in digital innovation, and expand cooperation with international partners. By combining stronger digital infrastructure, national capacity building and cross-border collaboration, Oman aims to support economic diversification and advance the digital transformation goals of Oman Vision 2040.
