Building a skilled aviation workforce is essential to supporting Omanโ€™s National Aviation Strategy 2040 and the sectorโ€™s long-term growth. The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS), with support from Boeing, has launched โ€œSky Futures Omanโ€ following an aviation forum in Muscat that brought together industry leaders, policymakers, academics and students. The initiative will provide applied learning opportunities in aviation, smart mobility, sustainability, data analytics and emerging aerospace technologies through workshops, innovation challenges and student research. At the forum, students also showcased projects involving sustainable aviation, artificial intelligence, advanced air mobility and uncrewed aircraft systems. Boeing forecasts that the Middle East will need 236,000 aviation professionals over the next 20 years, highlighting the importance of developing future-ready talent. This collaboration strengthens industryโ€“academia engagement and creates opportunities for Omani students to gain practical exposure, develop relevant skills and contribute to the future of aviation in Oman.
