Digital transformation creates the greatest value when innovation is applied to real industry challenges. Omanโ€™s Digital Transformation Hackathon in Al Wusta Governorate has brought together emerging talent to develop practical digital solutions for the regionโ€™s industrial sectors. Organised in Al Wusta in collaboration with the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, the initiative attracted nearly 500 participants across 127 teams, with 12 teams advancing to the final stage. The finalists are tackling 12 challenges based on the needs of different industries, with the goal of turning innovative ideas into initial digital prototypes and implementable solutions. The initiative strengthens collaboration between academia and industry, encourages problem-solving and entrepreneurship, and helps prepare Omani talent for a technology-driven economy. By connecting digital capabilities with operational needs, the hackathon supports industrial efficiency, local innovation and Oman Vision 2040โ€™s ambition to build a diversified, knowledge-based economy.
