Omanโ€™s development journey is strengthened by the achievements, expertise and leadership of its women across economic, social and strategic sectors. Ahead of Omani Womenโ€™s Day on 17 October, this yearโ€™s theme, โ€œShe Is Oman,โ€ recognises women as essential partners in nation-building and in shaping a sustainable, prosperous future. Omani women are contributing to energy, including oil and gas, electricity, renewables and clean technologies; environmental protection and biodiversity; and the minerals sector, spanning exploration, processing and value-added industries. The occasion also highlights women-led community initiatives, entrepreneurship, traditional crafts and productive enterprises that create social and economic value. A significant development this year is the allocation of one additional Majlis Aโ€™Shura seat for Omani women from each governorate, adding 11 seats and expanding opportunities for representation and participation in policymaking. As Oman advances towards Vision 2040, investing in womenโ€™s capabilities and creating opportunities for leadership, innovation and enterprise remain central to inclusive national progress.
