Omanโs economic outlook and policy priorities come under review as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) begins its latest Article IV consultations with the Sultanate from 25 October to 8 November 2026, hosted by the Central Bank of Oman. The mission will assess recent economic and financial developments and discuss fiscal and monetary policies, financial stability, external-sector performance and structural reforms aimed at supporting sustainable growth. Meetings are expected with government officials, private-sector representatives, banks and civil-society organisations to exchange views on economic conditions, emerging challenges and opportunities. Article IV consultations are a regular part of the IMFโs surveillance of member economies, providing an opportunity to review policy frameworks, growth prospects and potential risks. For Oman, the discussions come as the country continues to pursue economic diversification, strengthen resilience and advance reforms under Oman Vision 2040. The review will be important for international policy dialogue and for assessing how economic priorities can support continued stability, investment confidence and broad-based sustainable development.
