Omanโ€™s Islamic capital market is set for another significant development as Energy Oman (Energy Development Oman SAOC) announces a RO50 million Sharia-compliant Sukuk (Series 2), offering investors a fixed annual profit rate of 5% over five years. The issuance includes an option to raise an additional RO25 million through a greenshoe option, with profit payments distributed quarterly. Each certificate has a nominal value of RO1. The subscription will take place in two categories: Category I investors can subscribe from 4โ€“12 November 2026 through competitive bidding, while Category II subscriptions will run from 18โ€“30 November 2026, with the fixed price and cut-off yield expected to be announced around 16 November. The sukuk is structured under the Islamic financing principles of Ijarah and Wakala, with cash flows supported by Energy Omanโ€™s assets in the Sultanate. It is scheduled to be listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange around 10 December 2026. This issuance offers another opportunity to deepen Omanโ€™s domestic capital market and broaden participation in the countryโ€™s energy sector.
