Al Bustan Unveils New 8,500 sq m Integrated Public Space

general • Aug 9, 2026
Muscat Municipality has unveiled the Al Bustan Carts project in the Wilayat of Muttrah, introducing a new integrated public space designed to enhance the area's appeal and provide a more comfortable experience for residents and visitors.

The project covers approximately 8,500 square metres and has a planned implementation period of 270 days. It will feature 10 dedicated carts, six shaded structures, seating areas, pedestrian pathways, decorative lighting, paving and a restroom facility.

The development reflects a growing focus on creating attractive, accessible and community-oriented public spaces across Muscat. The combination of food and retail carts, shaded areas, seating and improved pathways is designed to encourage people to spend more time in the area while supporting a vibrant outdoor environment.

Projects like Al Bustan Carts can also contribute to local economic activity by creating opportunities for small businesses and entrepreneurs while enhancing the visitor experience in one of Muscat's distinctive coastal areas.

The initiative adds to Oman's broader efforts to develop modern, people-focused urban spaces that combine lifestyle, tourism, entrepreneurship and community engagement.
