Omanโ€™s tourism sector continued its growth in Q1 2026, with its contribution to GDP rising to 2.9%, up from 2.6% in the same period of 2025.

Direct tourism GDP reached RO 293.8 million, growing 6.5%, while total tourism output increased 9.7% to RO 610.4 million.

Accommodation, travel services, transportation and restaurants remained major contributors to the sectorโ€™s economic impact, highlighting tourismโ€™s wider role across Omanโ€™s economy.

The latest performance brings Oman closer to its Oman Vision 2040 target of increasing tourismโ€™s contribution to 3.5% of GDP by 2030 and 5.3% by 2040.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is continuing efforts to expand tourism products, attract investment, improve visitor experiences and create new opportunities for SMEs and the private sector.
