Google has introduced a new App Lock feature for Pixel phones in the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 3 update, adding another layer of protection for sensitive apps.
Users can lock individual apps and require fingerprint, face unlock or a device pattern before opening themβeven if the phone itself has already been unlocked.
When enabled, App Lock also hides notification content and removes widgets and shortcuts associated with the protected app.
The feature could be particularly useful for protecting banking, messaging, business and personal apps from unauthorized access.
