South Koreaโs Doosan Enerbility has secured an approximately RO 258 million EPC contract to build Omanโs 1,700MW Misfah Combined Cycle Power Plant.
Located around 20 km west of central Muscat, the project is scheduled for completion in April 2029 and will help meet Omanโs growing electricity demand while strengthening grid reliability.
The plant will use advanced combined-cycle technology designed to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. It is also being designed to support future carbon-capture integration and flexible peak-shaving as Oman increases renewable energy in its power mix.
The project further highlights Omanโs continued investment in energy infrastructure, industrial growth and reliable power generation.
