Omanโ€™s national athletics team delivered a strong performance at the inaugural Oman Athletics Grand Prix, securing several first-place finishes as athletes from more than 50 countries competed at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. The event was organised by the Oman Athletics Association as part of the World Athletics Continental Tour โ€“ Bronze level.

Omani athletes produced standout results across the competition. Ali Al Balushi won the menโ€™s 100m, while Salim Al-Rawahi claimed the triple jump and Fatek Beit Jaaboub won the high jump. In the womenโ€™s events, Alia Al Mughairi secured victory in the high jump.

The event also featured strong international participation across 31 track and field competitions, giving athletes the opportunity to earn valuable world-ranking points. Omanโ€™s strong showing provided important competitive preparation ahead of the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Beyond the sporting results, successfully hosting an international athletics meeting strengthens Omanโ€™s position as a destination for major sporting events and gives local athletes the opportunity to compete against high-level international opposition on home ground
