Omanโ€™s wholesale and retail trade sector expanded 5% in the first half of 2026, reaching approximately RO 1.735 billion, according to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information. Foreign investment in trade activities also increased 9.7% to RO 305.3 million, while re-exports recorded stronger growth of 13.6% to about RO 1.14 billion. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion said the figures reflect continued expansion in commercial activity and growing use of Omanโ€™s ports, airports, border crossings and wider logistics infrastructure. It is also advancing digital services through the Oman Business Platform and working to simplify trade procedures, support e-commerce, strengthen competition and attract further investment.
