Oman and the United Kingdom are preparing to deepen their economic partnership, with investment, trade, defence cooperation and regional security high on the agenda of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarikโs state visit to Britain, beginning 19 October 2026. The visit comes as British direct investment in Oman reached RO 16.8 billion at the end of June 2026, while bilateral trade totalled RO 387.9 million during the first seven months of the yearโalready exceeding the total recorded for all of 2025. Priority opportunities include renewable energy, green hydrogen, technology and artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, financial services, logistics, tourism and education. For businesses and investors, stronger bilateral engagement could create new pathways for investment, technology transfer, research collaboration and high-value partnerships. Converting these opportunities into practical projects will be important to Omanโs economic diversification ambitions under Oman Vision 2040 and to the next phase of OmanโUK relations.
