Oman Investment Authority (OIA) is spearheading an international alliance to establish a US$500 million (approximately RO192.2 million) private equity fund targeting investment opportunities across Central Asia and the Caucasus, with the formal establishment agreement expected in early November 2026. The initiative brings together China Investment Corporation, the Uzbekistan Fund for Reconstruction and Development, Tรผrkiyeโ€™s OYAK, the Eurasian Development Bank and Shenwan Hongyuan Securities, with further institutional investors expected to participate. The fund will focus on logistics, renewable energy, mining, food and agriculture, healthcare, and other growth sectors across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Managed by an Omani company led by national talent, the initiative aims to expand international investment partnerships, facilitate knowledge and technology transfer, and create pathways for Omani companiesโ€”including Asyad Group, Minerals Development Oman and OQ Groupโ€”to explore new regional markets. For Oman, this strategy represents an opportunity to convert international investment relationships into commercial partnerships, diversify overseas investments and strengthen economic links with markets offering long-term growth potential. It also reinforces OIAโ€™s role in supporting Omanโ€™s economic diversification and international investment ambitions under Oman Vision 2040.
