Dhofar to Host Major Food Security Forum as Oman Pushes Investment & Sustainability

Dhofar is set to host the Food Security Forum and Exhibition 2026 on August 10, bringing together policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs and industry experts to explore investment opportunities and strengthen Oman's food security sector.

Organised by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Dhofar branch, in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of Dhofar and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the forum will focus on investment opportunities, emerging technologies, best practices and improving the competitiveness of Oman's food industries.

The accompanying exhibition at Atin Plain from August 11–15 will feature around 100 exhibitors covering agriculture, livestock, fisheries, food industries, modern agricultural technologies, logistics, finance and investment.

The forum will also highlight initiatives such as the Najd Agricultural City project, financing solutions for agriculture, modern technologies for sustainable food supply chains, and opportunities under the Invest in Oman initiative.

A key objective is to attract and localise high-quality projects, increase local content, encourage private-sector participation and strengthen Dhofar's position as an investment destination for agriculture and food security. Usufruct contracts supporting agricultural and food investments are also expected to be signed during the forum.

The initiative supports Oman Vision 2040 by connecting investment, technology, sustainability and economic diversification around one of the country's most strategic priorities—building a resilient food system.
