Oman and Algeria Partner on Smart Water Meter Automation

Oman and Algeria have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement an Automated Water Meter Reading (AMR) Project, marking another step toward smarter utility management and digital transformation. The collaboration aims to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability of water distribution through advanced metering technologies.

The project will enable remote water meter readings, reducing the need for manual inspections while providing more accurate consumption data, faster billing cycles, and improved leak detection. Automated meter reading also helps utilities optimize operations, conserve water resources, and enhance customer service through real-time monitoring.
