Oman is taking another significant step towards smart mobility and digital transformation. The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has invited licensed transport companies to submit proposals for operating app-based land transport services at Salalah Airport.
The initiative aims to modernize airport ground transportation by enabling passengers to book rides through approved mobile applications, track vehicles in real time, view fares before travel, and enjoy seamless cashless payments. The move is expected to improve passenger convenience while enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.
With Khareef Dhofar attracting thousands of domestic and international visitors each year, digital transport services will play a key role in ensuring smoother connectivity from Salalah Airport to destinations across the governorate. The initiative also opens new opportunities for private sector participation and innovation in Oman's growing mobility ecosystem.
This project aligns with Oman Vision 2040, reinforcing the Sultanate's commitment to smart infrastructure, digital services, and sustainable transport solutions.
