South Al Batinah Governorate is strengthening its tourism offering, with 354 licensed green inns, heritage inns, guest houses, rest stops and camps recorded by the end of the first half of 2026.
The facilities include 275 guest houses, 70 green inns, 5 rest stops, 2 camps and 2 heritage inns, spread across Barka, Al Musannah, Rustaq, Nakhal, Wadi Al Maawil and Al Awabi.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism says these establishments are creating new investment opportunities for young entrepreneurs, while offering visitors experiences connected to Oman’s natural landscapes and traditional way of life.
The growth of these tourism facilities highlights the potential of community-based tourism, heritage experiences and sustainable hospitality to support local economies.
