Oman has unveiled an ambitious RO 903 million development plan for Al Najd Agricultural City in Dhofar, positioning the project as a major investment in agriculture, food security and economic diversification.
The development is expected to transform Al Najd into an integrated agricultural hub, combining modern farming, livestock, food production, logistics and supporting infrastructure.
The project aims to increase domestic food production, attract private-sector investment and create new opportunities across the agricultural value chain, from production and processing to storage and distribution.
The initiative highlights Oman’s growing focus on large-scale, technology-enabled agriculture as part of its strategy to strengthen food security and develop sustainable economic sectors.
The Al Najd Agricultural City also supports the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, particularly economic diversification, sustainable resource utilisation, private-sector participation and the development of new employment opportunities.
